Kitchens, Whiteladies Road: products now available to buy online…
I only visited Kitchens cookshop on Whiteladies Road for the first time last weekend. It’s a bit of an Aladdin’s Cave in there…although it may look small from the outside, venture through the front doors and you’ll find three floors selling everything you need – and many things that you didn’t realise existed!
Beginning life as a market stall in 1968, Kitchens moved to a small shop in Clifton Village just 5 months later after realising the demand for their products. In 1970, the Whiteladies Road branch was opened, followed by Bath in 1979 and Cardiff in 1990. The Clifton Village shop closed in 1991, the company having outgrown the premises.
The brand’s website, http://www.kitchenscookshop.co.uk, was launched in March 2010, but it’s only as of this week that it is possible to buy their products online. According to the website, around a fifth of the product range is available via the website, including brands such as KitchenAid, Le Creuset, Global, Aga and Bialetti.
Kitchens’ website features useful Kitchens Guides, which help you to choose which products to buy, and how to use and care for your purchases. Individual product links also include detailed descriptions, dimensions, and details of the manufacturer.
Standard delivery is free when you spend £50 or more…but if you’re just browsing, make sure you don’t miss your chance to win! The company are looking for recipes, hints and tips for their Foodies Area: any entries each month will be entered into a prize draw, with the winner getting £20 of Kitchens vouchers to spend in store. Simply click here to enter…
The site looks fantastic so far, and I’m particularly loving the Foodies Area – full of useful information on everything from food preparation to storage. I’ve signed up to the newsletter…now just to decide which recipe to enter into the competition… 🙂
