2011 Local Christmas Gifts: Hampers

Spread the love

Stuck for Christmas ideas? If you’re buying for food and drink lovers, there are plenty of options in Bristol, and I’ll be trying to cover off as many as possible before the big day!

Hampers are always a winner, and a number of Bristol-based companies are offering both pre-filled and tailor-made options this year…

Arch House Deli have a range of hampers available, individually made and gift wrapped to order from the finest local & international gourmet food and drink available in the deli. Prices range from £15 to £250 – 24 hours’ notice is needed to put the hamper together, and you can either collect during normal opening hours or have delivered to any address in Bristol for £7.50 (or £5 within Clifton). More details are available by clicking here.

Papadeli’s hampers come in four sizes, ranging from £50 to £150. You can choose from a number of themed hampers (Christmas, Italian, Spanish…) or make up your own and let them know what to include. A courier charge of £8.50 will see your hamper delivered, or you can collect from the shop. More details here.

Mullion Cove, a Bristol-based company selling the finest Cornish produce, offer a range of unique luxury hampers, packaged in a natural fluted hamper tray and wrapped in cellophane and raffia. Again, pre-packed hampers priced from £9.50 to £50 are available, or you can create your own (prices vary). More details here.

Warmley-based Bath Ales have also produced a unique Christmas hamper this year, featuring a selection of West Country treats. Priced at £24.95, you can see more details here, and the hamper will be available from the Bath Ales online shop from November.

On Park Street, the Bristol Guild Food Hall is stocked with a variety of products including chutneys, chocolates, cider and coffee. Hamper baskets can be bought in-store and filled with the produce of your choice. A minimum spend level does apply, but as far as I’m aware, this is only around the £30 mark.

Bath-based Field To Feast have some great options available if you’re a lover of local food. There’s a range of three available (Essential, Meaty and Veggie), priced between £55 and £65 and containing products from the Upton Cheyney Chilli Farm, Castellano’s Charcuterie and Fussels, among others. More details here.
