Award-winning bakers Duncan Glendinning and Patrick Ryan from Bath-based eco-artisan bakery The Thoughtful Bread Company (well-known amongst Love Food Festival visitors) will be appearing in a three-part BBC2 series beginning this Monday, December 5th.

The Big Bread Experiment, airing at 7pm over three consecutive nights from Monday, sees Duncan and Patrick “take part in a unique social project to reunite a town through bread and bring freshly baked artisan loaves back to the community”.

Shot over eighteen months, the project is based in Bedale – a small town in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Previously a thriving farming community, the town is now predominantly inhabited by commuters who spend little time getting to know their neighbours.

Local curate Cath Vickers works with Duncan and Patrick to set up a community bakery, in an attempt to achieve the mammoth task of bringing a community spirit back to Bedale.

You can see The Big Bread Experiment on BBC2 at 7pm on Monday 5th, Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December.
