Speaking at a press call in Queen Square, Josh Eggleton and Luke Hasell, Directors of Eat Drink Bristol Fashion, said they had been “overwhelmed” by the support they had received from Bristolians following the announcement of the pop-up project earlier this month.

In just 3 weeks nearly 400 tickets have been sold for the variety of exciting events that will be hosted in the spectacular Eat Drink Bristol Fashion tipis between April 25th and May 7th. The event is being held in Queen Square, Bristol.

Josh and Luke were speaking at a press call that saw all participating chefs and restaurants gather for promotional photos.

Despite an early clamour for the popular guest restaurant Tasting Menu events that has seen a number of formal evening events sell out, revellers are being reassured that there are lots of opportunities in which you can come down and join the fun casually.

Tapas Bar – Throughout the event a Champagne & Wine Bar will be open, from 10am to 12 midnight (1am on weekends). The bar has free entry and no reservation policy!

The recently released menu has been put together by organiser Josh Eggleton, of the Michelin starred Pony & Trap, and will serve a range of modern “twisted” British dishes such as Truffle & Montgomery Toast, Beef & Salt Beef Slider (mini burger) and Scallop Pops (wrapped in smoked bacon) – with prices from £3. The full menu is here.

Sunday Lunch – On Sunday 29th April and Sunday May 6th the Pony & Trap team will be serving up their award-winning Sunday roast, using meat supplied by the Story Group Ltd, a local organic producer. They will also be showcasing the local community enterprise of the Community Farm who will be supplying all our organic vegetables, so there’ll be lots available for vegetarians! Commenting on the events, Luke said: “Eat Drink Bristol Fashion was borne out of our “Secret Sunday Lunch” that took place on my farm overlooking Chew Valley Lake last April – so we hope people turn out and support it in Bristol. The Pony & Trap was runner up in the Observer Food Monthly Best Sunday Lunch this year so you know the lunch will be great! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, it’s really good value and it’s often a popular one for families.”

Josh added: “We want to make sure Eat Drink Bristol Fashion has something for everybody. For businesses you have the Bristol Banquets, for dedicated foodies you have the ticketed tasting evenings with our guest restaurants and for the casual visitors you have our “Modern British” tapas bar that will be serving decent food around the clock!

“Whether you want a light bite or just fancy chilling out with a cider, you’re more than welcome to join us and enjoy the surroundings in the sunshine – fingers crossed!”
