Love Wine Festival to launch in Bristol on May 13th

Spread the love

An exciting new wine show – Love Wine Festival – is to launch at Paintworks in Bristol on 13th May 2012.

Love Wine Festival has been developed by Lorna Knapman, the creator and founder of Bristol and Bath’s favourite food festivals Love Food, which are award winning events famed for their stunning markets and laid back, family-friendly atmosphere.

The much anticipated wine event will provide wine lovers in the South West with the opportunity to discover and enjoy some superb wines and also food matches. Love Wine will bring together over 30 wine producers and merchants. Following the ethos of Love Food, the event will showcase local merchants, and will have a focus on natural wines and English producers.

Love Wine is working with local wine expert Angela Mount, who will be running wine tasting and food and wine matching master-classes throughout the day.

Lorna Knapman commented ‘We believe that Angela’s knowledge and enthusiasm for wine, along with Love Food’s unique and friendly atmosphere will create the perfect recipe for people to enjoy learning about wine without feeling intimidated. The aim of the event is to inspire festival goers with some fantastic, sustainable and affordable wines, with workshops and master-classes throughout the day’.

Some top local restaurants and eateries, including Bells Diner and Sam’s Kitchen Deli, will be serving sample portions of their signature dishes to match some of the great wines on offer.

There’ll also be some great local ciders and ales at the event, as well as some delicious wine loving foods, such as charcuterie, olives and cheese. Oyster lover Katy Davidson of Mangez Moi Oysters will be on hand, shucking some of Rock’s finest molluscs and matching them with some great English sparkling wines.

‘I’m delighted to be involved in the first ever Love Wine Festival’ said Angela Mount. ‘As a Bath resident, I have seen the popularity of the Love Food Festivals, and the loyal following that these events have, and it’s great to have our own wine show, supporting similar ethics.’

Entry is £5, and tickets are available from www.lovefoodfestival.com/lovewine-tickets.html
