Tour the 4 corners of Italy with Filini

To celebrate the great Italian food and culture that we love as a nation, Filini Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bristol is launching a special series of tasting menus from 4 different regions in Italy.

Starting on the 25th of May 2012 with the enchanting region of Sardinia, the restaurant will offer a series of sharing tasting platters over the summer months to showcase the authentic and traditional foods that each region produces.

To whet the appetite for this special offering some of the mouth watering dishes on the Sardinian sharing menu are an adaptation of the favourite Antipasti sharing platters with Salame Rustico, lamb prosciutto, lonza (a very lean cured and smoked pork loin) and prosciutto sardo (which is matured for 1 year). For main course diners can enjoy a succulent rump of lamb with fregola and saffron, a delicate fish casserole called Cassola or an elegant homemade ravioli with smoked ricotta and spinach.

The other regions that will feature in this promotion are Northern Italy, Mid Italy/Rome and Southern Italy. Some of the additional dishes that can be expected include Cappellacci (pumpkin ravioli), braised pork cheek, whole baked sea bass with grilled gamberoni and the ever famous delectable chocolate fondant.

Executive Head Chef Nadeem Akhtar says ‘I wanted to created something exciting to enhance our Filini Menu and this way our guests will be able to experience the regional dining experiences of Italy from their home town of Bristol. I love the passion and energy which comes with Italian cooking and I hope that our guests will see this  through our new regional promotions. I hope to welcome new and existing diners to our restaurant and want everyone to experience the true essence of traditional Italian dining – like Mama used to make!’
