With the countdown to Christmas officially begun, it’s time for Lorna from Love Food Festival to tell you about all the exciting things they have in store for you at this year’s Christmas Love Food Festival in a stunning 100 year old Spiegeltent.

“Enjoy an enticing food market that has all your Christmas shopping covered, a thoughtfully selected cookery school line-up and a host of children’s activities set amidst an edible gingerbread village.

In our cookery school, sponsors ‘The Devilled Egg’ will be providing top tips on how to be the hostess with the mostess, covering everything from pre-preparing canapés to delicious winter cocktails. Award winning chef Louise McCrimmon from ‘Harvey Nichols’ will be cooking up simple yet perfect festive starters whilst ‘Demuth’s Vegetarian Cookery School’ promise to help you get the best from those infamous brussel sprouts and other seasonal vegetables. Bristol’s famous ‘Bells Diner’ will be giving top tips on preparing your goose or turkey as well as cooking some delicious terrines and pates. Fresh from Dorset, ‘Honeybuns Bakery’ will be stopping by for some festive gluten-free baking and with Love Food resident Sarah Moore and ‘Forage’ Liz Knight preparing a selection of edible gift ideas we are confident we’ve got every culinary corner covered.

Stock up on treats for the festive period in our food market. ‘Organic Steam Farm’ will be selling their delicious smoked rainbow trout as well as a selection of other organic meats and ‘Castellanos’ will be on hand with his award-winning selection of charcuterie. With ‘Bath Soft Cheese’, ‘Greens of Glastonbury’ and the ‘Bristol Cheese Company’ slicing up their fresh fromage, your cheese board will be positively oozing this Christmas. Award winning salted caramel brownies, Christmas cakes, hand-made chutneys and jams, gourmet marshmallows and gingerbread biscuits are just a few of the things on offer for the sweet toothed and a selection of handmade jewellery, beautiful illustrations, Christmas decorations and fruit wines will provide many more great gift ideas.

If all that shopping is making you hungry then tuck in to something there and then. Traditional chestnuts and mulled wine will be on offer but why not try some authentic street food too. Choose from ‘Mama’s Mac’n’Cheese’, the ‘Gaucho BBQ’s’ ruby red beef, oven fired pizzas made to order, crispy churros and chocolate dipping sauce by ‘Ruby Moo’ or slow cooked lamb brought to you by ‘Ross and Ross’.”
