Bank Holiday Cider Spectacular

Bristol Cider Shop has unveiled plans for its annual May bank holiday cider festival. The ‘Bank Holiday Cider Spectacular’ will be held at the Southbank Club on Dean Lane in Southville on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May.

The event will see a return of last year’s popular ‘cider and sausage’ theme, with over 30 varieties of local cider and perry on offer and a wide array of sausages. This year there will also be live music and a whole host of other activities, including cider tastings and even cider speed-dating!

This is the first time that the event has been held south of the river. Organiser Pete Snowman said “Last year was great fun but it was obvious that we needed a bigger venue! The Southbank is perfect – it’s only 5 minutes walk from the Arnolfini – it’s got a stage so we can have live music and a garden so we can have a barbeque!”

The Sunday of the festival coincides with the Bristol 10K, which passes by just on the other side of the river – and any runners who attend after the race can look forward to their first half pint on the house.

The full programme will be announced closer to the time but promises to be a fun-filled weekend. Entry to the festival is free during the day on Saturday and all day on Sunday. Tickets for the Saturday night party cost £5 and are available now. For more information, visit www.bristolcidershop.co.uk.
