The Stable: opening July 2013 on the Harbourside…

Spread the love

The Stable, Harbourside

Pizzas, pies and cider sounds like a winning combination to us…and that’s just what you can expect from The Stable, due to open their Bristol branch in July 2013.

With successful branches already trading in Bridport and Weymouth, the Dorset brand is spreading across the South West, with a Bath restaurant also set to open soon.

Located next to Watershed on the Harbourside, the self-titled “Cathedral To Cider” promises to bring local ingredients to the venue to create “totally unique, West Country inspired dishes”.

The menu posted on the venue’s windows promises main courses priced from £8.50 to £13.50. While the menu is pretty much identical to those served in their other restaurants, we love the Bristol-inspired names. From the pizza menu, try “The Clifton Suspender” (free range chicken, roasted red pepper, local field mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella – £10.50) or The Bristol Blaster (local chopped pork, Naga chillies, garlic, red onion, basil leaves, mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella – also £10.50). Pie options include chicken, leek and ham with a thyme crust or ham hock, black pudding and pea, while those with room for dessert can choose from cheesecake, a brownie, crumble or a Pizza Pudding – a pizza base topped with hazelnut chocolate and mascarpone.

Gluten free options are also available, while if you like your pizza spicier, they’ll be happy to provide you with extra chillies!

Refreshingly, the cider list on their website (no word as to whether the list will be the same in Bristol…) provides something different to the norm…no Magners, Bulmers or Strongbow here, but “real ciders” such as those from Lyme Bay, Burrow Hill, Perry’s and more.

Cider and pizza seems like a winning combination to us, and we’ll be heading straight over as soon as they’ve opened! We’re not normally fans of nights out on the Harbourside, but The Stable could well change our views. Watch this space for more details of opening dates!
