Meluha - Lunch menu

Those looking for a speedy lunch, after work meal or pre-theatre menu will be pleased to know that Meluha on Park Street has launched just that. Priced at £10 for 2 courses, the fine dining Indian restaurant with award-winning Chef Stephen Gomes at the helm has created a lunch menu that allows diners to enjoy the Meluha experience in just thirty minutes.

Served from 12-2 and 5-7pm, the new Thirty Minute Menu is a great introduction to Meluha’s cuisine, and will hopefully encourage more people to try the a la carte menu that the restaurant has to offer – it’s well worth it!

The menu begins with a warming and subtle cream of coriander soup…

…which is followed by a choice of four main courses. With lamb, chicken, salmon and a vegetarian option on the menu, there’s something for everyone – and every main is served with a pink peppercorn raita, garlic butter naans and the fantastic popping chocolate baby naans.

I was lucky enough to sample the “Green And Divine” – a Goan chicken dish marinated with homemade green spices overnight before being cooked in the tandoor, and served with a flavoursome cumin lentil mashed rice, crisp slices of dehydrated banana and a frozen coriander lollipop. Seriously good stuff.

The list of mains also includes the Lamb Achaari: cuts of lamb seared in a rich and spicy tomato sauce, and smoked in cold whisky under a glass that is removed when the dish is served. This is served with a fragrant cumin rice.

Those with bigger appetites can also choose to add one of three desserts for just £3.

The new lunch menu also includes a takeaway option in the form of the “naanwich” – a choice of three naan-based sandwiches with intriguing sounding fillings such as lamb seekh with strawberry, naga rogan jam and salad leaves. The takeaway menu also includes three varieties of lassi and a pack of four differently flavoured biscuits – or a naanwich, biscuits and lassi for just £6. Seriously good value for money.

Keep an eye out too for Meluha’s new cocktails, including a jalapeno vodka-based concoction mixed with Indian spices and garnished with half a chilli…sweet and spicy all at once!
