Do you know someone in the South West who has made a real difference to the food in people’s lives? BBC Radio Bristol are looking for your nominations for that person who goes the extra mile when it comes to food.

Your nominee could be anyone, as the award page on the BBC Radio Bristol website states. “Whether it’s the school cook who’s gone the extra mile or the person on the allotment who cooks up their leftover veg for everyone to share. Someone who works in the kitchen of a care home or a hospital. The business or charity that’s made a difference to your food. Or maybe the neighbour who leaves food parcels on your doorstep.”

This brand new award will form part of the 2014 BBC Food and Farming Awards: the ceremony for which will be held in Bristol for the first time this year. Taking place on May 1, the awards evening will also mark the start of the highly exciting Food Connections festival, involving a huge number of individuals, businesses and groups across the city from May 1 to 11.

To submit your BBC Radio Bristol Food Hero Award nomination, visit the BBC Radio Bristol website by clicking here. Nominations close at midnight on April 4.
