MEATliquor coming to Stokes Croft this October!

Spread the love

Great news, Bristol! The much-lauded MEATliquor brand, which currently has restaurants in London and Brighton, is set to make its debut in Bristol this October.

MEATliquor began life as burger van MEATwagon in 2009, before launching a pop-up restaurant in a disused space in New Cross, London the following year. A permanent venue soon followed in Hoxton in the form of MEATmission, with MEATliquor on Welbeck Street, W1, permanently busy. They opened their Brighton branch in September 2013, and the popularity of the brand is clear, with additional new premises planned in Leeds, Glasgow and Newcastle, as well as Bristol.

On April 15th, MEATliquor co-owner Scott Collins was in Bristol to sign the contract on their new Stokes Croft premises, and was kind enough to have a chat with us about the plans for their new venue.

A photo shared by Scott via Instagram earlier on in the day reveals the location to be 77-79 Stokes Croft, the former home of Dynamic Heating Services opposite The Canteen, and a Twitter account has already been set up at @MEATliquorBRS. Much of the planning has already been done, but the team are waiting for their licensing to be confirmed before work can begin.

According to Scott, they’ve managed to confirm Inkie – originally from Clifton but now London-based – as a contributor on the design front for their 75-80 cover Stokes Croft venue. Menu-wise, expect a similar feel to MEATliquor’s existing restaurants, with burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, fries, salads and more. Scott has confirmed that there will be menu tweaks to make it unique to Bristol – and there will be similar tweaks to the cocktail menu too.

From the venue’s furniture to the meat, bread and other ingredients used to make up their famous dishes, the MEATliquor team will be aiming to use as many local suppliers as possible. But be warned: none of their restaurants take reservations, so you may need to be prepared to wait when the doors open for the first time!

We’ll keep you updated on progress as we hear more…
