G Brothers Pizza

On March 11th, Geoffrey and Gareth Hunter launch their first food truck venture in Bristol. Their mobile business – G Brothers Pizza – will sell wood-fired pizzas from a custom-built geodesic – a dome made from triangles – oven in a converted ex-fire service vehicle.

Brothers Geoffrey and Gareth both left teaching careers to launch this business, buying a 30 year old, 7.5 tonne ex-fire engine and converting it into a working kitchen, designing and building their own oven which, at 2 metres in diameter, is the largest custom-made oven in Europe. The restaurant-sized oven means that the pair can cook more pizza and offer faster service with no compromise on quality.

The handmade, wood-fired, stone-baked pizza will use only top quality ingredients from quality assured, ethical suppliers: think superfine Shipton Mill flour from Total Produce, Brue Valley Farms mozzarella and charcuterie, olives and more from Chef’s Deli.

Thinking green, Geoffrey and Gareth have installed solar panels for green power: the kitchen’s electricity will be run on solar energy, and all of their packaging from Green Man Packaging s compostable. They have further green plans down the line as well, ¬†including installing a Tesla wall, converting the truck to run on biofuels and installing a heat pump in order to convert¬†excess oven heat into useful energy. Social responsibility is also top of their agenda – expect them to be joining the Suspended Coffees initiative shortly after their launch, with their own Suspend a Slice campaign.

Licence pending, G Brothers Pizza will be based in Champion Square near Cabot Circus – and as well as selling from this location, they’ll also be available for weddings and other events.
