In a special one night only event, the Harbourside Market will be hosting a Christmas Night Market aboard the Tall Ship Kaskelot, one of the most beautiful ships in Bristol’s floating harbour.

Join them on Friday, December 9th from 5pm-9.30pm, with a free night of street food, live music and entertainment aboard one of the last classic wooden Tall Ships. The Night Market will feature some of Bristol’s most inventive street food traders serving up cuisines and flavours from around the world, along with live music, two bars offering festive mulled drinks and cocktails, and plenty of entertainment and games.

To celebrate the festive period, there’ll be a cosy hangout in the Kaskelot’s hold alongside the quayside stalls and entertainment. It’s sure to be a night to remember, and joins a host of exciting festive activity around Bristol’s Harbourside this holiday season.

“We rarely have the chance to open our gangway to the people of Bristol,” said Jessie Atkinson, Ship’s Manager on the Kaskelot. “The crew is really excited to have this opportunity, to share our beautiful ship with the city that we call home. The guys at the Harbourside Market have put together a fantastic event, and with such a venue it promises to be a really special evening.”

The Kaskelot is one of the last classic wooden Tall Ships, and the former traditional Baltic Trader was built in 1948 in Denmark. After working as a support vessel for fisheries in the Faroe Islands, she became a star, featuring in many TV and film productions including Return to Treasure Island, The Three Musketeers, David Copperfield, and Shackleton.

The Night Market will run for one night only from 5pm-9.30pm on and around the Kaskelot, moored by Lloyd’s Amphitheatre, as part of the Harbourside Market’s ongoing project to bring the Harbour to life. This is part of a series of special projects – including exhibitions, night markets and one-off events – being created by the Harbourside Market – watch this space…
