Bristol's Independents Summer Fete

This weekend, head on over to the Memorial Stadium for the Bristol’s Independents Summer Fete: Bristol’s first, and only, summer celebration of the city’s independent establishments.

This free event takes place from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of July, and offers a chance to sample an array of food, drink and crafts from indies throughout the city, and a celebration of Bristol’s community projects and cultural diversity.

Food will come from Los Hermanos, Murray May’s, The Feastie Boys, The Burger Joint, I Scream Tacos, Pizza da Marco, Tasty Ragga, Buckland Venison, Heartfelt Vintage and The Splitscreen Ice Cream Co., among others. And on the drinks front, you’ll find choices from Bristol Beer Factory, Moor Beer, Arbor Ales, Cocksure Brewing Co., Lost & Grounded, St Paul’s Cidery, Scrumptious Wild, Ganley & Naish Cider, Ex-Press Cider, Bristol Dry Gin & Bristol Vodka, Espensen Spirit, Bramley & Gage.

There will also be live music all day on the BCfm stage with Dishy Tangent, The Humerus, Jonathan Terrell, Studio 7 artists, RSVP Bhanga, artists from Jelli Records and lots of other great acts to help you get into the summer spirit.

Expect plenty of activities for all the family put on by many of the great community projects and charities that we have in Bristol, as well as a fun fair and the usual face painting! Community projects to be involved this weekend include Avon Wildlife Trust, 91 Ways, St Paul’s Carnival CIC, North Bristol Community Project, Friends of Horfield Common, Children’s Scrapstore and others

Gloucester Road BID are supporting the event, and Anne-Louise Perez from the BID team added: “The Bristol Independent District which is represented by the Gloucester Road Business Improvement District is delighted to be supporting Bristol’s first Independent Fete organised by the Bristol Association of Restaurants, Bars and Independent Establishments at the local football ground. A festival style event that unites independent traders and their community is what we love! One time the Memorial Stadium was getting ready to become a Sainsbury’s supermarket and so it’s really pleasing to see it now hosting this exciting weekend event that celebrates being indie along with the Dinema outdoor cinema, street food, drink, live music and more. See you there!”
