Pizza Workshop – who have impressed North Street diners with their authentic sourdough pizza – are now bringing their “One thing. Made well” ethos to those in Clifton.

The new space at 159a Whiteladies Road opens on August 3rd, and all the ingredients that have made the Bedminster restaurant such a fond fixture in the Bristol food scene will be present and correct.

Their pizzas are made from 100% sourdough with no added yeast, risen over 30 hours to produce an incredibly light base. It’s then topped with a homemade San Marzano tomato sauce, the finest Italian cheeses and extra virgin olive oil.

What comes out the oven is a unique blend: less doughy than a traditional Napoletan pizza, but not as thin and crispy as a Roma pizza. An authentic Italian hybrid, made for the British palate.

Diners can choose from around ten pizzas (though it changes depending on season and specials) all topped with authentic, simple Italian ingredients. And if you’re popping in for lunch, you can also sample one of Pizza Workshop’s boccas – a traditional hot sandwich from Naples, made using the same sourdough as the pizzas. All of the pizzas will be available to eat in or can be boxes to go, while there will also be soft and alcoholic drinks available, as well as Marshfield ice cream.

Expect a beautiful restaurant crafted predominantly from ash, with lights, tables and chairs all made by local design and build company Moon. There’ll be an open kitchen too, meaning diners can watch the pizza chefs hard at work. All pizzas will available to eat-in or can be boxed to go.
