Michelin have now unveiled their latest list of Bib Gourmand winners for their 2019 guide – and three more Bristol restaurants have been added to the list.

The Bib Gourmand is not quite a Michelin Star, but recognises “friendly establishments that serve good food at moderate prices“. And this year, Root, Tare and Bell’s Diner are all deemed to fit the bill.

Vegetable-centric restaurant Root and ambitious seasonal restaurant Tare can both be found in CARGO at Wapping Wharf, boosting the area’s foodie credentials still further. Innovative modern Mediterranean restaurant Bell’s Diner was taken over by its current team in 2013, since then also opening sister restaurant Bellita, on Cotham Hill.

In total, 27 new additions have been included from across the UK, taking the current number of Bib Gourmand holders to 143. There have also been 28 deletions this time around – which include Bristol’s No Man’s Grace and The Bird In Hand.

The new guide will be published on October 4th, and a full list of Bib Gourmand holders can be seen here.
