It’s all change for Larkin Cen’s second Bristol restaurant, Woky Ko: Kauto – as on Monday, September 9th it will reopen as Woky Ko: Jing Xu.

The Chinese restaurant, on Queens Road, opened in May 2018 – but as of early September it’ll become Jing Xu: a Chinese rotisserie and noodle bar which will serve traditional roasted meats like glazed duck, pork belly and char siu pork, as well as small plates, noodles and soup noodles, all prepared in Larkin’s own style.

Expect fast-paced counter service, with the upstairs of the venue reserved for group bookings and private hire. Woky Ko: Jing Xu will be open seven days a week, and the menu will be available both to eat in and take away.

Larkin says, “We’ve been at our Queens Road site for over a year now and even though the feedback has been excellent, we wanted to evolve Kauto into something faster-paced for diners who are short on time. Inspired by a Chinese Siu Lap Dong, we’ll be serving roasted meats plus small plates such as wontons, spring rolls, and crispy squid. There will also be noodle and soup noodle dishes on the menu and we’ll have a strong vegetarian and vegan offering. All served with beers and wines. These are dishes of my own and from my family’s heritage and I’m really excited we’re finally going to be cooking this type of food. I can’t wait to get the oven lit and the doors open now.”

From Monday 9th to Sunday 15th September, those dining at Jing Xu will receive 20% off their total bill as a celebration of the restaurant’s launch. To book (bookings are available in the evenings from 5pm onwards), head to the Woky Ko website.
