Bristol Wing Fest 2020

If you love chicken wings, then book your tickets now for Bristol Wing Fest, which is making its debut appearance in the South West this May.

Taking place at the Lloyds Amphitheatre on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th, Bristol Wing Fest will see the area transformed into a “poultry eating, music thumping, axe throwing, beer and bourbon drinking two days of epic proportion”. Across the two days, the team is expecting a massive 70,000 chicken wings to be consumed…

The event has already seen success in both London and Manchester, and with wings priced at £1 each at the event, the aim is to showcase the wares of restaurants, street food traders and pop-ups, and to establish who makes the country’s best wings…

The competition element of Bristol Wing Fest is split into two: the best buffalo wing, and the best wild wing, where traders can experiment with flavours and toppings to transform the humble chicken wing into something very different indeed.

Popular traders like as Chicken George; the current reigning wing champions, Gurt Wings; the local favourite, looking to bring the trophy home, and ElPollote; originating from London, and part of the infamous KERB street food scene, plus many more, will all be competing to win the public vote. 5000 chicken wing fans will have the opportunity to cast their votes live across each of the two categories, via Wing Fest’s online voting feature and QR codes dotted around the festival.

Clifton Chilli Club will also be hosting the Lava Wing Challenge – the UK’s hottest wing challenge – while the Frank’s RedHot Wing Eating Competition will challenge individuals – against each other and the clock – to eat as many wings as possible in the allotted time.

There will also be plenty of beer from Frontier on offer, alongside entertainment that will include live blues music, brass bands, bourbon master classes, axe throwing, BBQ cooking demonstrations so you can re-create the magic, and DJs playing summer party vibe tunes into the night.

Tickets for Bristol Wing Fest are now on sale, priced at £17.50 for early birds and £20 thereafter with kids (under 12) going free. Tickets include a Wing Fest signature trucker hat alongside Frank’s RedHot sauce, free access to fairground rides, cooking demonstrations and games.
