A selection of five local gifts for the tea and coffee lovers in your life for this Christmas…

Lahloo Tea

Kate Gover, founder of Lahloo Tea (and owner of the recently-opened Lahloo Pantry in Clifton Village) has some great gift ideas up her sleeve. All of her teas are specially imported from small, artisan, fairly traded and organic producers and beautifully packaged here in Bristol.

Her website features a range of gift ideas, but we particularly like the Simplicity tea gift set: a five-tin selection of Lahloo teas along with a Tovolo tea infuser for £20.

ATTIC

ATTIC (All The Teas In China), owners of the tea bar on Coldharbour Road, also have a range of tea gifts available on their website. Among the gifts available are these attractively packaged Tea Gift Sets (£30). There are five different sets available (based on White, Green, Oolong, Black and Pu’erh teas), with each set containing a canister of pure tea and two blends based around it. We like the Black Tea Gift Set – one blend featuring peppermint, rose and liquorice, and the other cinnamon, fennel and ginger.

TwoDay Coffee Roasters

If your gift recipient prefers coffee to tea, head to St Michaels Hill’s TwoDay Coffee Roasters and make a special blend just for them. The Blend Builder tool on their website allows you to combine up to three different coffees to create your perfect blend. Choose how you want the coffee ground (whole beans, or suitable for cafetiere, espresso, filter or stovetop coffee makers), and select the quantity – prices are just £3 for 100g.

Extract Coffee

For a coffee gift that keeps giving, head over to Extract Coffee‘s website, where you can buy either a 6 month (£75) or 12 month (£140) coffee subscription. Every month, Extract will send the recipient two 250g bags of single origin filter or cafetiere coffee or whole beans (select which you want when you make the original purchase), along with details of what’s included for that month.

The Bristol China Company

It’s not just about the choice of hot drink, but what you make it with and what you drink it from! The Bristol China Company, established in 1979, has two different sides to the business: fine English bone china tea sets, and chintz patterned gifts. We particularly like their Rose Basket Cream Tea For One set (£24.95 inc. UK p&p) – one of six different chintz patterns available.
