Loungers, the Bristol based restaurant/café/bar group, has opened its sixth Lounge venue in the City. The award-winning business opened Grupo Lounge on Canford Lane, Westbury on Trym on January 31st with the help of some very special young guests.

Year 5 pupils from Lockleaze Primary School joined Loungers Executive Chef Theo Guy in a cookie baking demonstration to mark the opening of Grupo Lounge, empahasising its family-friendly credentials. The children also took part in a colouring competition which was judged by Deputy Lord Mayor of Bristol, Cllr David Morris and his wife Kathleen.

The winner was Parys Bravo, aged 10 who won a birthday party for herself and five friends at Grupo Lounge – pictured with the Deputy Lord Mayor and his wife.

Loungers has invested £500K in transforming a former Blockbusters unit into a cosy, retro home from home, in the eclectic style Bristolians have come to love from the group. Westbury on Trym was chosen as a key location due to its diverse demographic and densely populated residential neighbourhood.

Jody Chapman, operations manager, Loungers, said: “Westbury on Trym is the perfect site for our Lounge concept. There’s already a thriving and vibrant community and we’re really looking forward to playing our part.”

Grupo Lounge will cater for all tastes throughout the day. Whether you’re looking for coffee, a business lunch with colleagues or a lazy all-day brunch, Grupo Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The menu features everything from authentic tapas, spicy peri-peri chicken breast burger to wild boar and apple sausage and mash… or there’s the ever changing specials board. Little people are well catered for with their very own kids’ menu.
