Holly Eggleton, Front of House Manager at The Pony & Trap in Chew Magna, has been named as one of three finalists in the UK Front of House Manager of the Year awards as announced by the Publican Morning Advertiser.

The special category is part of the Morning Advertiser’s Top 50 Gastropub Awards which recognise the country’s best pubs and their staff through an industry poll of top chefs, pubco chiefs and food experts. Last year, The Pony & Trap was named at 12th place in the list.

For 2014, both the top 50 dining pubs and the winner of the Front of House Manager of the Year award will be revealed at Anglian Country Inns’ Hermitage Road in Hitchin, Hertfordshire on 27th January 2013.

Sponsored by Highland Park Whiskey, the winner of the Front of House category will be chosen by Waitrose Good Food Guide Editor, Elizabeth Carter, and Alistair Sawday’s editor David Hancock.

Speaking on her nomination, Holly said:

“It’s amazing to have been named as a finalist in a prestigious national competition like this”

“It’s exciting to get recognition from the industry for what we’re doing here at The Pony & Trap but credit really must go to our staff who make the pub such an enjoyable place to work and visit”

Holly’s brother Josh Eggleton, Michelin star chef and co-owner of The Pony & Trap added:

“After 7 years of unwavering dedication managing all things related to The Pony & Trap, there is no one more deserving of this award than Holly.

“First managing the front of house at just 19 years old, she has taken the pub from strength to strength. Holly is also in charge of our external catering company with 25 events a year, manages all our involvement at Eat Drink Bristol Fashion and has even found time to fit a degree in fashion design along the way! Holly has made The Pony & Trap what it is today and we’ll all have our fingers crossed for her at the final ceremony in January.”
