VegFest Bristol 2014

Bristol is gearing up for VegFest, Europe’s biggest veggie event (May 23rd to May 25th). This year’s VegFest boasts an impressive music line-up with headliners including Boney M, Joy Division’s Peter Hook and the Light, Gwen Dickey’s Rose Royce and ABBA Gold.

Taking place in the amphitheatre, VegFest drew over 20,000 visitors to the harbourside last year with around 25,000 visitors expected this weekend.

“We’re continuing to pull out all the stops as VegFest Bristol enters its eleventh year,” said organiser Tim Barford. “We’ve got a fantastic line up again this year and we can’t wait to welcome 70’s pop sensations Boney M to the stage on Friday night.”

Taking place during National Vegetarian Week, VegFest combines a top selection of caterers, cookery demos, talks and exhibitions with kid’s activities and an impressive music line up.

VegFest promotes the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, and Tim Barford said, “Whether you’re vegan, veggie or lactose-free, VegFest Bristol has it all covered with a variety of caterers serving up delicious plant-based global cuisine containing no animal ingredients. There are also dozens of talks, workshops and short films extolling the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.

“A lot of people are noticing a big difference in their health by reducing their meat and dairy intake significantly. You don’t have to go veggie or vegan to see the benefits of a plant based diet.”

Entry to the Bristol event is £15 advance, £20 on the gate Friday 23rd 6pm – 11pm (Kids under 16 £3/£5). £3 on the gate Saturday 24th 11am – 6pm (kids under 16 free), £10 advance, £12 on the gate Saturday 24th 6.30pm – 11pm (kids under 16 £3/£5). £3 on the gate Sunday 25th 11am – 5pm, £5 after 5pm (kids under 16 free).
