Jean-Christophe Novelli’s Navarin of lamb on Waitrose TV

Spread the love

To be honest, before this week I had no idea that Waitrose TV existed. I’ve now got the site bookmarked – it’s a great source of recipes, information and “how to” guides, as well as videos covering different elements of Waitrose’s own farm: Leckford Estate in Hampshire. You can watch a video giving a tour of the farm, as well as separate videos providing information on the Leckford vineyard, and their production of rapeseed oil, chickens and mushrooms – and that’s just a start.

They’ve also got some fantastic videos covering “Making small changes the Waitrose way”, which include things like making homemade and healthier Chinese takeaways, learning new ways of using up leftovers and more.

The channel also features a number of different recipe videos from a whole host of celebrity chefs, including recipes from the Channel 4 series, Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose. This series began in April 2014, with Steve Jones and Lisa Snowdon as the hosts – and the likes of Raymond Blanc, Heston Blumenthal, Michel Roux Jnr. and more involved.

Apparently Waitrose TV add new videos every week, so I’ll definitely be checking back!

I’m also glad that Jean-Christophe Novelli is involved in the channel – I met him a few years back and can confirm that he’s just as easy on the eye in real life as on TV…anyway, I digress. The two videos of his that I’ve watched feature two very different recipes – one for summer vegetable dressings, and the other for a very tasty looking navarin of lamb with sweet potatoes. It may not really seem like stew weather, but I’ll definitely be giving this a try – and the caramelised sweet potato dish certainly sounds different. Including sage, cocoa powder, honey, ginger, vanilla and more, it’s something that I’ll be trying instead of my normal roasted sweet potatoes, or sweet potato mash or chips.

You can see the lamb navarin video below – for more videos, visit the Waitrose TV website.
