Love Food Festival returns to Paintworks to welcome autumn with open arms. The clocks are turning back and this is the perfect opportunity to get together with your local community, indulge in autumnal comfort food and prepare for the winter months ahead.

Grab yourself a cup of mulled cider or hot chocolate and have a wander through the fabulous producer stalls. Chat to the makers and stock up on top produce including meats from Stream Farm, cheese from Godminster, seasonal fruit and veg, cakes, tea, chutneys, vinegars and more. You can even buy everything you need to make your own seasonal preserves.

There will be plenty to keep the little ones entertained as usual. The National Trust will be on hand with their apple press as part of their ’50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ campaign. So if you have a glut of fresh British apples at home or you know someone that does, bring them to the festival along with a bottle and turn them into juice to take home with you.

The Halloween fancy dress competition is back and will be taking place throughout the day, so don’t forget to dust your children’s’ best costumes off! They can make their own pet mouse (from cloth) and trick or treat bags in the children’s area too, as well as planting garlic to keep the vampires at bay.

Visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to comforting street food. Delicious parcels from Ah Ma’s Dumplings, burgers from Burger Theory, Moorish feasts and flatbread, pulled pork, Spanish food from The Spanish Buffet, jerk chicken, Rib Street’s ribs and more.
Chimney Knowledge will also be on hand to discuss keeping your home warm through the winter months, while you could also treat yourself to a relaxing massage from Neal’s Yard – a great way to start the half term!

Commenting, Love Food Festival founder Lorna Knapman said: “We are returning to Paintworks to bring together all the things we love about autumn. We look forward to welcoming you to join in with your local community, enjoy seasonal produce and comforting food at its best and prepare for the months ahead.”
