This winter sees two more food and craft markets come to the ss Great Britain, situated on Bristol’s historic harbourside. The seasonal markets are proving increasingly popular with tourists and locals attending in their hundreds having already enjoyed sunny market days in May and August this year.

For autumn the market returns with a Halloween theme, taking place on Saturday 25 October. Expect over 20 stalls selling ghoulishly themed food and drink including Mullion Cove’s coffin dodger brownies and pumpkin scones as well as stalls selling local arts and crafts. Who knows, maybe the ghost of Brunel might join in the spirit and make an appearance?!

A Christmas market will take place on Saturday 13 December with more stalls than usual located inside the newly refurbished Great Eastern Hall as well as outside in Brunel Square. Expect over 40 stalls selling local food, drink and crafts. With hand-made jewellery, handcrafted soaps and body oils, decorative home accessories to wood crafts and ceramics; the craft stalls will provide lots of ideas for the perfect Christmas present. With local food and drink stalls selling the finest artisan products including ale and cider, cheese, preserves and chutneys, charcuterie, handmade chocolates and a wide selection of other food gifts, there will be lots to fill the bellies and stock the Christmas larder with. And to get you in the festive spirit there will be local carols as well as mulled wine and mince pies!

Stalls this autumn include The Wild Beer Company, Lovett Pies, Winnies Bakery, Snowdrop Cottage, Dragonfly Jewellery, The House of Ceylon, Circle Cider, She Sells Sushi, Bath Soft Cheese, Jim Munnion Art, Spicers Scotch Eggs, Smokey Doughs Pizza, Wayne Edge Wood as well as many others.

With free entry, ample parking and a ferry stop close-by, the markets at ss Great Britain are the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon; browsing the stalls, relaxing in the Dockyard Cafe Bar and soaking up the stunning scenery that Bristol has to offer.

All markets will take place from 10am – 4pm outside the ss Great Britain, Great Western Dockyard, Bristol BS1 6TY Tel. 0117 926 0680
