Four units in the Quakers Friars area of Cabot Circus are to be turned into the UK’s first L’Osteria restaurant. The popular pizza and pasta restaurant has over 60 locations across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and will make its UK debut in Bristol.

Bristol was chosen for its vibrant social scene, and its willingness to embrace new food and drink concepts. The team chose Quakers Friars to complete its dining quarter (it will sit between Carluccios and Brasserie Blanc), where they’ll open in December and serve their signature 18 inch pizzas and fresh pasta dishes that use authentic Italian ingredients.

There will be space for 200 inside, plus a terrace outside and a private function room that holds 23 people. Expect a chic bar area, cosy booth seating, plus larger tables for families and groups of friends.

While L’Osteria is part of a chain, they’ll be using local suppliers such as Bristol Beer Factory, Orchard Pig and French Garden Produce in addition to their imported specialist Italian ingredients. Those who visit will be able to enjoy anything from a coffee or cocktail at the bar to a full seated meal, including weekly seasonal specials.

Follow the team’s progress on Twitter at @Losteria_UK, where they’ll be sharing their latest news and job opportunities…

  1. Like to know their thinking behind parking right next door to another Italian?

It’s only a personal view, but Cabot isn’t my idea of a dining destination. Would have thought they could have found a better location but maybe there is more business from passing trade than bookings. You think?
