Here in the South West, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to independent local businesses, from food and drink to footwear, and cycles to clothing. On Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6th, St George’s Hall, just off Park Street, will celebrate our great independent brands and producers when Best of Britannia West (BOB West) comes to town.

Organised in association with the Made in Britain Campaign and part of a series of events taking place in different regions across the UK, BOB West will give visitors a “pop-up department store experience”, as they wander around the beautiful St George’s Hall to discover some of the South West’s finest brands across a range of categories. As well as Bristol-based brands such as Moodles and Room 212, there will be brands from all over the region. Settlers Stores in Somerset will be showcasing their tweed clothing, while you’ll also find woollen products from Devon’s Lux & Bloom, homewares from Frome’s Laura DillonMoulton bicycles from Bradford-upon-Avon and more.

Of course, I wouldn’t be writing about BOB West if there wasn’t a food and drink element involved too! Bristol Eats will be providing the street food offering for the weekend, thanks to Scoff & Relish and Wild & Rustic, while you’ll also be able to buy plenty of South West food and drink treats to take home, with the likes of Black Cow Vodka and The Sweet Potato Spirit Company setting up shop for the two days.

Promising a combination of exciting new brands, heritage brands that have been made in Britain for years, and some exciting interactive moments that are to be announced as we get closer to the date, BOB West promises to be an exciting one-off shopping experience that coincides perfectly with many of us starting our Christmas shopping!

Tickets are priced at £4 each, and include either a craft ale or a cocktail while you browse – and student tickets are free. All tickets can be bought by clicking this link.

We’re excited. Are you? To stay up to date with exhibitor lists (more are being added all the time), visit the Best of Britannia website.
