It’s almost time for the launch of another new restaurant in Bristol’s Clifton Village – this time a new branch of French restaurant Côte…

The chain was given the accolade of “Best Value Restaurant in Britain” in the 2009 Good Food Guide, and also appears in the 2011 guide – praise indeed for a non-independent restaurant. The Clifton branch will be opening at 27 The Mall at 9am on Monday, January 17th, offering “simple freshly prepared French food at value for money prices.”

Judging by the sample menus on the chain’s website, diners can expect to pay around £5-£8 for starters, £9-£18 for mains, and around the £5 mark for desserts. The focus here is very much on traditional French dishes, including the likes of Moules Marinières, Beef Bourguignon and Crème Brûlée.

It appears that menus vary by location, with set menus available in other branches for around £10 for two courses – no details on the website as yet of any Bristol offers. However, what you will find is a rather generous opening offer of 50% off total food bill for up to 6 people. The voucher cannot be used for set menus, and is valid on Mondays to Thursdays until January 27th 2011 – click here to download.

If the reviews of other Côte branches are anything to go by, this place will be a welcome addition to Clifton Village’s busy restaurant scene – I know I’ll certainly be heading down there to take advantage of the opening offer…
