Atomic Diner: Opening Thursday, January 12th

Atomic Diner

Since opening in July 2012, Atomic Burger on Gloucester Road has become well-known for its big portions, great burgers and retro vibe, packed full of cult memorabilia from years gone by.

Now, city centre diners get to experience the food and the atmosphere too, with Atomic Diner opening in the home of the old Riproad Cafe Bar on Union Street, from 5pm on Thursday, January 12th.

There’ll still be burgers, with a huge range of exciting fillings and names such as the Dead Elvis, the Daisy Duke and the Jake & Elwood paying homage to some cult classics. But, excitingly, there’ll be a bigger menu than in their Gloucester Road restaurant, as they’re adding pizzas to the mix too.

At the time of writing, I hadn’t yet seen the menu…but if the pizzas that their sister restaurant Atomic Pizza in Oxford are on the menu, then we’re in for a treat. In Oxford, diners can choose from options such as the Ziggy Stardust (prosciutto crudo, rocket, sundried tomato and parmesan), or the massive 16 inch The Joseph Francis Tribbiani: a feast of BBQ pulled pork, chipotle beef, buffalo chicken, mushrooms, red onion, jalapeƱos, chilli flakes, parmesan & coriander.

We’re looking forward to heading over once they’re open!
